Yesterday morning, we passed 500,000 views on PlatformCon content on the community Youtube channel. That’s 18,000 hours of PlatformCon content watched.
PlatformCon truly is the beating heart of the community. Everywhere I go, whether it’s in our certification courses, in-person events or even just to work with you in your orgs - everyone attended PlatformCon (or is planning to!)
So, as we lead up to PlatformCon25, this easter edition of platform weekly will highlight the top 5 talks from the last 3 years of the world’s largest platform engineering conference.
- It’s time to get on the platform engineering Ferris Wheel! by David Schweizer is officially the most viewed PlatformCon talk ever! From PC23, it makes a banger argument on the power of PE
- How to build an IDP with Backstage, Crossplane and Argo CD by Viktor Farcic is the 2nd most viewed talk ever (and the top talk from PC22). It’s also one of the first-ever in-depth guides on the Backstage, Crossplace, Argo IDP that has blown up so much in the last few years
- Build abstractions, not illusions by Gregor Hohpe was the #1 from PC23, and might be my most referenced talk ever. If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know I consider this a mandatory watch for everyone in platform engineering.
- Kargo - Multi-Stage Deployment Pipelines using GitOps by Jesse Suen & Kent Rancourt is the most watched talk of PC24 and an absolute sleeper hit. I don’t even remember this talk from 2024 but it has been blowing up in the last year🔥
- Platform engineering Q&A with Kelsey Hightower and Kaspar von Grünberg is probably one of the best hours of platform engineering content you can watch.
I cant wait to see how this list changes in the next year. We’re expecting almost 200 new talks from PlatformCon 2025, including 3 full days of workshops, and two separate in-person talk tracks in NYC and LDN.
You don’t want to miss it.
